Solo Pezo Von Ellrichshausen / Matarraña, Spain

A brutalist hideout in the middle of a forest in Matarraña, Spain arranged around a small but deep pool with large open terraces all around.

Built as a circular hideout with a 360-degree view of the surrounding nature, "Solo House II" by OFFICE KGDVS is redefining the concept of the rural retreat. This masterpiece of contemporary architecture utilizes glass, and metal to create a structure that both embraces Spain's warm climate and protects from it, creating shade and privacy whenever necessary through the use of mobile mesh panels. The villa is built on top of a plateau, surrounded by trees, with the roof functioning as a shelter, and forms the perimeter of the inhabited surface.

A collection of contemporary furnishing, selected works from the design duo Muller Van Severen, and two water filtration systems by artists Richard Venlet and Pieter Vermeersch complete the symphony of design and art in a beautiful space that has become a traveler's must-see.  Two of the bedrooms are positioned on the north side of the building by the crescent-shaped swimming pool, while the master bedroom is located on the western side, closer to the dining and living areas but still separate to offer additional privacy.
